First Echo: When Torin was a young child visiting his mother's family, a museum visit led him to see dinosaur bones for the first time. He was struck by a sudden memory of actually seeing living, breathing dinosaurs for the first time and knowing that he would do anything to protect them--the moment that in canon, was a defining moment that led Torin to ditch the Deboss. This was a direct factor in his lifelong fascination with and passion for dinosaurs. Even if he left the Echo boundaries, he'd built on the enthusiasm in that first memory with other newly gained dinosaur-related knowledge and memories to the point where it would carry that love of dinosaurs through no matter Torin's circumstances.
